Valladolid, Yucatán-Mexico

The City of Valladolid is located at the State of Yucatan in Mexico, it is very near of the touristic City of Cancun (about one hour and a half by bus), so if you will travel to Cancun you can visit the place in a single day from early in the morning, like I did, or maybe more days. Valladolid was founded in 1543, and its colorful streets with Colonial architecture buildings and houses painted in a great variety of lively colors;  the impressive architecture of the former Convent of San Bernardino de Siena constructed in the XVI century  (I will post photos later), and other interesting historical churches, as well as its regional cuisine, make this City an attractive place to visit.

    • Yes, you are right Frizz, it is certainly clean, not like Mexico City where you sadly can find some places (fortunately not all) with trash on the ground in public areas. I have even seen not very well educated people throwing trash to the ground from the windows of public transportation or while walking on the streets. When that happens I tell them as polite as I can “Excuse me, you dropped this”, so they usually feel ashamed and pick up the trash. I hope that from this shameful experience, they will never do it again.
I know that Frida Kahlo is internationally well known, and it’s very interesting that people around the world can approach Mexico via the diffusion of her paintings.
